Sara Diny-Alexander Cayuga Street
About 2nd Generation Co-Owner, Sara Diny-Alexander
You could say that I have been in the business since I was born; our parents had a “Pack N’ Play” set up in the back of the store at one point. As my brother and I grew up, we learned how to wrap clocks, crystal bowls, and Hummels that we carried as part of our giftware.
Although I grew up in the business, I was encouraged to pursue other ventures and try different things. For almost 10 years, I enjoyed waitressing between high school and while working toward my bachelor’s degree in Business and Psychology at Edgewood College. After graduating college in 2008, I worked as a business banker for five years.
In 2007, I married the love of my life, Mark, on 07-07-07. We had our first child in 2012, and it was after that, in 2013, I decided I would love to come back to the family jewelry business. We now have three beautiful daughters and enjoy all the wonderful things Wisconsin summers have to offer.
When I came back to the jewelry industry, I wanted to further my education, so I completed GIA’s Accredited Jewelry Program and Diamond Grading Course. However, I really love to do the day-to-day running of a small business: bookkeeping, marketing, inventory purchasing, and being able to create lasting relationships with our customers. My favorite thing is keeping up with jewelry fashion trends and helping someone create their personal layering look! Whether it is stacking with rings and earrings or layering with bracelets and necklaces, I love it!
Even if I wasn’t paid for it, I would educate people on anything jewelry related. Jewelry should not only fit someone’s personality, but should also feel comfortable. I genuinely love doing this every day with my family; both the family I was born into and the family of co-workers and customers we have created over the years.
